Dr. Randell E. Trammell

Trammell has had a variety of life experiences that has shaped not only who he is today, but also his different world view. He has an oddly mismatched educational resume that includes a BA in Religion, a MBA in Management, and a Doctorate in Education.

Dr. Trammell has served in many church positions (from youth dude to children's minister to pianist to minister of music to executive pastor to senior pastor) as well as teaching many college level courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. His 'real' job is as a nonprofit CEO, where he works with wonderful young people from all over the State of Georgia.

He has a wonderful wife, Catherine, and three beautiful children: Eeney, Meeney, Miney, and NO MO! Just kidding on the names...which are Georgia Caroline, Lincoln, and Emery Claire. Not really kidding on the No Mo part though!

The idea for his first book, Shadrach, Meshach, and a Billy Goat, came from his own lived experience as a kid growing up in a small country church. Back in those days, there was no nursery-rather kids had to behave or come to an unfortunate meeting with the nearest 'switch tree'. When Trammell was probably 4 (and playing in the church floor with his little people), the pastor's sermon was on the Three Hebrew Children in the Fiery Pit...Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. The pastor was a fiery country preacher and the child Trammell (not familiar with Hebrew names) completely misheard the story as Shadrach, Meshach, and a Billy Goat! Of course, growing up in the deep South, Trammell also thought that Lot's wife became a "pillar" of salt--(Hint: we slept on pillars in bed...). Nonetheless, while the details are not exactly straight in his book, the message certainly is!
