Award winning outdoor photographer and journalist, Hillary Kigar grew up hunting in northern Michigan during a time when few women hunted and those who did were often looked at as outsiders. She spent many days in her deer blind with a pen and a notebook in her hands writing about the wonders that surrounded her. Her stories have been published in international hunting journals and her photos the winners of outdoor contests and soon to be featured in the artwork of an up and coming wildlife artist. She also holds a place in several big game record books including Boone & Crockett and Pope & Young. After finding true love and the hunting buddy she had always dreamed of, Hillary took to writing her first novel and incorporated the two things that drive her, hunting and love. She hopes to inspire others to do the same as she has always searched bookshelves for stories that incorporated the two but was never able to find any. She would love to have a shelf full of stories about hunting and love written by other women. Her goal is to write books for women who hunt, produced entirely by women who hunt.
