I am a teacher of English who revised a grammar book from the Victorian era which includes a history of writing dating from the time of Shakespeare and Chaucer. I then put this newly revised book, "Professor Meiklejohn's Grammar and History of the English Language" (2012), to work in my own classroom where it taught clear student writing accompanied by useful examples and meaningful exercises. It is available at Amazon Books in both paperback and Kindle editions.

After I retired, I started writing acrostic puzzle books, cryptic crossword books and some fiction too.

My latest collection of acrostic puzzles is "Revolutionary Acrostics". It has been designed as a classroom activity for group study of the American Revolution, which is about to celebrate its 250th anniversary.
