Barry Prokop

Carton Russell has taken the privilege of introducing the author Barry Prokop.

Carlton, or CR to my friends, met Barry about five years ago in the Blue Iguana Bar in Fairfax, Virginia. I pitched the idea to him to talk about my life. Apparently, Barry thought it was a good idea, and here we are. Barry is a native east coaster in the United States who lives vicariously through the lives of people like me. We are about the same age and he likes the sound of his voice almost as much as I do. However, many times I have seen Barry staring off into the distance and I must snap my fingers to bring him back to this reality. That is probably why it took him so long to get my first book out. That isn’t a criticism, it is just that he tends to work at his own pace and in his own way. One day, I will see blank pages and the next, fifty pages scribbled with notes. Go figure. It must work for him since his notes are pretty close to what I tell him. I know he wouldn’t want me to be telling you this about him, but I even had to talk him into putting his name on the book and publishing it. Authors, geeez, what a temperamental lot.
