Write Stuff is a publishing entity composed of established authors who, beyond their own writing, create books with a theme of creativity. All our publications such as our journals, planners, logbooks and guides are crafted to encouraging writing, the creative process, and the all-important requirement for documentation.
All writing, even simple note-taking, deserves to be held in a journal or notebook created for the purpose. Yes, we’ve all written a note on a napkin or on the back of an envelope - and we’ve all spent hours searching for it or it quickly got lost. A notebook or journal that is beautiful, witty, funny or functional is the way we should all document our handwritten work.
Write Stuff’s philosophy is writing changes you for the better. Writing changes the world. We believe if there is no writing there is no civilization, no history, no documentation of words spoken or of deeds done, and no stories. Plato said, ‘Those who tell the stories rule society.’
The practical side of writing is fully understood by all. We must document to prove something happened, to produce a record of activity or observance that can be referenced for evidence, research or simply monitoring progress. There is a mystical side to writing too. Something happens when you sit to write. Good things. The mind enters a similar state one must enter to meditate. We seek a quiet corner, a comfortable position in which to sit, we empty our minds of the daily whirl and try to focus on our subject. Our hands working with our minds create words to make us smile, cry, and laugh. Once the hands and the mind work in unison pain dissolves, brain fog clears and the serenity which has its source in our soul winds its way up to the heart. When we sit to write we open portals to the wonders of the mind, we find our bliss, and we can even heal our poor wounded hearts.
