Gary Wakstein, better known as G Pa Rhymes, is the award-winning rappin’ and rhymin’ storyteller behind The Adventures of Cray series. After 50 years in the restaurant industry, Gary followed his true calling—writing children’s books that inspire, educate, and entertain. Partnering with illustrator Erica Leigh, he created unforgettable characters like Cray the Crab, Fox Hay, Turtle Fay, and Gull Ray, who teach lessons about friendship, bravery, honesty, kindness, and caring for the environment. His books spark imagination while encouraging kids to make good choices and respect the world around them. A new chapter book for ages 8–12, The Forgotten Garden, releases in fall 2025. Known for his interactive school visits and high-energy performances, G Pa Rhymes travels to schools, libraries, museums, and festivals, captivating audiences with rap-style rhymes and humor. He lives in Sandwich, MA, with his life partner Liz and loves spending time with his children and four grandson's on Cape Cod.
