Laura Weber Garrison, PhD
Laura Weber Garrison, PhD, is an author, trauma recovery therapist, educator, and international retreat leader who has spent more than twenty years working with trauma, the nervous system, and the ways people learn to survive what happened to them.
Her work comes from decades of clinical practice, extensive study, scientific research, and personal experience with trauma and PTSD. She holds a doctorate in Holistic Health and advanced certifications in clinical hypnotherapy, yoga therapy, and trauma-focused modalities. More important to her is whether any of that knowledge is useful when life gets hard.
Laura has spent her career helping people understand what happened to their brains, bodies, relationships, and sense of self, then giving them practical ways to change what happens next.
That same approach runs through her writing. She writes about trauma, autonomy, identity, relationships, and recovery without coddling readers or reducing complicated human behavior to slogans and quick fixes. Her books are grounded in research and clinical experience, with the directness, humor, and occasional profanity that have become part of her work.
Outside her private practice, Laura teaches workshops and professional trainings and leads transformational retreats around the world. She is also an artist and lifelong traveler, and human behavior has fascinated her for as long as she can remember.
What happened matters. What happens next matters too.
