Michaela Wang

Bred in a Chinese-Taiwanese household, Michaela Wang admires and preserves ancient culture. She has hiked through the dank Daintree rainforest of Queensland, Australia to explore the native Kuku Yalanji tribe; driven up I-95 to Uncasville, Connecticut to research the sovereign state of the Mohegan Nation; and ducked her head under the lantern-threaded telephone lines of Beijing, China.

Home in New Jersey, Michaela advocates for women’s equality and rights, leads Mi Casa and the Kpop Club at her high school, and edits for a regional Chinese newspaper, the New Observer. Her work has been recognized by Scholastic Arts and Writing Awards and several other acclaimed publications.
