Krista Keating-Joseph

Krista Keating-Joseph, a Gold Star Mom, is also the author of the Big-Hearted Charlie Series of children’s books based on true stories of her fallen Navy SEAL son, Charles Keating IV. The first book in the series, Big-Hearted Charlie Runs the Mile, earned the Royal Palm Literary Award from the Florida Writers Association. Krista graduated from the University of Arizona, which she attended on a cross-country scholarship. She has been a nationally ranked runner since age nine. Krista has coached high school cross-country and worked in public relations and healthcare marketing. She coaches running at her daughter Ali’s school. She has raised two sons, two daughters, and one stepson.

Krista and her husband, Ron, live in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, where she teaches Sunday School at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church and volunteers for Daughters of the American Revolution, The Jean Ribault Chapter. Krista and Ron enjoy outdoor activities such as paddleboarding, biking, body surfing, running, skiing, and tennis.
