As that memorable summer approached, I began contemplating a romantic trip to Paris for my then 50th birthday. My husband was contemplating something entirely different – divorce. Consequently, just shy of my 50th birthday, I found myself on what I call the “receiving end” of a divorce. In the ensuing years, I’ve met numerous men and women struggling with the fallout from their divorce: changes in finances, lifestyle, community and friendships.

I became a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA) specifically to help others deal with these issues. I am trained to gather and compile financial information, prepare scenarios of possible settlements, and help to understand the upside and downside of the various options. I do what I do because I have sat on your side of the table. I know what it's like to question the decisions that have been made over the many years of a marriage.

I am also trained as a mediator and trained in collaborative law. The mediation training was intense and eye opening bringing up emotional issues I thought were long resolved. It gave me a much clearer understanding of the lifelong challenge of divorce.

My goal, always, is to educate. It’s been a long road, and not a straight one, healing from the divorce. I’ve made mistakes along the way, learned a few things, grieved, let go and come out whole on the other side. I’d like to offer my support and share some of my knowledge with you as you travel down your own road.
