Tom is a Chartered Landscape Architect and has fifteen years’ experience working in the built environment. He has worked on strategic masterplans and policy development though to detailed design and implementation of large-scale residential and commercial projects across the UK and internationally.
He has acted as expert witness in public inquiries for a variety of developments for both the public and private sectors. He was on the senior management team of a national planning and design consultancy, leading business development in new markets.
Tom understands the impact the built environment has on people’s behaviour, physical and mental wellbeing. In 2013 Tom co founded FAT Properties with his wife Philippa to design, develop and operate student homes that outperform the market. https://fatproperties.co.uk

Philippa and Tom met in Manchester in 2006 when they were working for an architecture firm. They married in 2009, have three children and now live in the Lake District, UK.
