Born and raised in the Pittsburgh region, Adelaide Siebert (also known as Miss Addie) is a wife, mother, grandmother, author, creator of missaddie.com, and founder of Siebert Publishing LLC. Miss Addie actually wrote her first children's story in 1993 when her then six year old daughter repeatedly asked where her shoes were each morning before school. It was clear - Moms are supposed to have all the answers - and this inspired "Molly's Good News". However, despite being told by numerous publishers in the 90s all the way into the new millenium how good the story was, no publisher could take on the project saying, "it's not suited for our list".
But this proved to be a wonderful thing because Miss Addie acquired countless skills which, upon finding her first illustrator, equipped her to finally publish the book herself in 2020. And once that door was opened, Miss Addie let loose writing and creating more than ten books in less than one year.
Her first title released was "The OFF Day" featuring a family that nearly loses it when the internet and power go out. Soon after, as Miss Addie patiently awaited the completion of "Molly's Good News" hand-drawn and painted illustrations, she produced her "Living Things Coloring & Scribbling Books" collection that will include at least 7 books by winter 2020.
Then there's her "Kerplickety Plunk" story for babies and toddlers, and "Clara and Max Begin Highschool" for older kids which will be released after "Molly's Good News". And finally, "Molly's New Friends" is the second book in her Molly series which will hopefully be ready by late 2020 or early 2021. More details about these stories can be found at missaddie.com.
Adelaide Siebert has always loved writing, creating, designing, rhyming (Dr. Seuss and his "The Cat in the Hat" is her all time favorite children's author and story)... positive reinforcement, and teaching. Consequently, despite the seemingly wide range of book types, you'll see one common thread: there's something of value (directly or indirectly) taught in every book she produces. Another common thread is she strives to keep all her paperback copies under 10 dollars - and her ebooks under 5 dollars.
Adelaide also began a fantastic Book Club wherein club members have access to free homeschool assignments, coloring and other activity sheets, and special contests where the winners works will be published in future books as well as on missaddie.com, facebook.com/childrenstoryauthor and instagram.com/missaddiescorner!
