Stephen Rule

Stephen Rule was born in Wrecsam and brought up in Coed-llai in the north east. He now lives in Abermor-ddu with his wife, Angharad, their son, Bedwyr Llŷr and their furry feline, Mali.

He was educated most recently at Aberystwyth University and has since been teaching Welsh to high school students and adults for over a decade.

He runs the Doctor Cymraeg accounts on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube which aim to help learners and native speakers alike enjoy and practise their Welsh. He has given talks for various institutions such as colleges, universities, public-sector groups, the Welsh Language Commissioner, and others. He has appeared on many media outlets and has appeared on TV, radio, and podcasts.

Stephen’s books represent his interests; the Welsh language as a modern tongue, the other five living Celtic languages, and Welsh history. His secret love of singing survives online via niche YouTube videos.
