I am a 59 year old pastor who never set out to write a book but found his steps ordered by the LORD. I set out to read Ecclesiastes at a "woe is me" season in my life and discovered a familiar pattern in the words and ideas as I read. Catching the Wind sets out a framework for discovering below the surface the treasure of sovereign grace inherent in this Old Testament book of wisdom.
I have been married to Linda for 30 years. We have no children, but we do have a Teacup Yorkshire Terrier named Lucy whom we love dearly. We have lived in Northeastern MN on the shores of Lake Superior for 26 years and have pastored a small Baptist church in our town for the duration of our residency. I have pastored only this church in my ministry career, having been called there just before the end of my seminary studies at Bethel Theological Seminary in St. Paul, MN.
I am originally from the Deep South. Ministry in the rural Upper Midwest has all the features of cross-cultural ministy. I still can't get sweet tea, collards, catfish, or hush puppies in the local restaurants despite a number of personal requests over the years!
