Aviva Pflock

Aviva Pflock is someone who has never taken the easy path to get her anywhere! She earned her BA in Adolescent Behavior and Sexuality then went on to work as a surgery scheduler, medical insurance specialist, and a mother of 2 girls. After that, she became an early childhood development specialist and parent educator with Parents as Teachers (PAT). Then, she helped her husband start a successful engineering business, assisted in the opening of a preschool, became the program administrator of a PAT program in her new home town (oh yeah, she moved too), and decided to have a 3rd child (a boy this time). Then she wrote a book, turned the PAT program over to another organization, toured the world to speak on parenting issues, and decided to try public school teaching. In the most recent chapter of her life, she holds a Master's in Educational Psychology (which she received within the same 12 month period of one daughter graduating from college and getting married, another daughter graduating from high school, and a son becoming a bar mitzvah), earned her teaching license, and works as a high school Social Emotional Learning Specialist. For fun, she sings, dances, acts, writes, and directs with a community choral performing group.
