Acting, in film, TV and the theatre has been my profession for decades (my full screen c.v. is listed on IMDB.com).This was a departure, coming from a family with a long history of military service, although both professions share a love of dressing up(!) and a willingness to travel. And, in my case, a love of stories. My family's colourful stories are told in a memoir, Relative Times, interspersed with parallel events in which I've acted: they fought in wars for real, I just acted in them. When my agent's calls became less frequent I began to write in earnest (instead of playing just one, I get to play all the parts!). The result is The Crimson Pantomime, seven years in the making and a book which I'm proud to say has already won the admiration of many of my colleagues in the industry. When not writing or acting, I love spending time with my family. My wife, Janie, and I have three grown up kids who between them have five marvellous kids of their own. Janie and I have lived in London since the early '80s. We escape to our seaside flat in Deal on the south-east coast whenever we can.
