Julie Snyder is a native of Wisconsin. Though she moved away from the Midwest after graduating from the University of Wisconsin, her heartland roots are deeply anchored. Snyder is a long-time writer, editor and publisher. She has authored travel columns, edited inflight and ski magazines, and published visitor guides. Citations have included the Jesse H. Neal Award for business media, and Catalog Age awards for travel publications. She’s also worked in the travel industry, community volunteerism and animal welfare. Her current creative pursuits include travel writing, poetry and suspense fiction. She lives in Portland, Oregon, with her husband, Joe, and Rocky, a rambunctious Maine Coon cat.
