Jiwon Lee

Jiwon Lee (or 이지원 or 李知原) is an award-winning filmmaker currently based in Los Angeles. She majored in Cinema & Media Studies at the University of Southern California. A trilingual, Jiwon speaks Korean, English, and Chinese—courtesy of her years living in Korea, Malaysia, and China.

Jiwon embraced her identity as a Third Culture Kid when she moved to the United States, which inspired her to write a book for other Third Culture Teens struggling to find a place in this world. When not explaining to strangers how she is “from” China but not Chinese, she is either working on her next project or walking her dog. Jiwon also hosts The Tenth Culture Kid on USC’s radio station, KXSC (kxsc.org/listen).
