Stephanie Dee Smith grew up in South Gate, California, in the shadows of downtown Los Angeles. A native Californian, for the past 35 years she has worked in municipal government for four different Southern California cities, working her way through the ranks from entry-level to her current Director-level position. Through the years she has authored over 100 articles on a variety of topics, including workplace change initiatives, personnel issues, business management, work/life balance, and financial planning. She regularly provides training to other government agencies throughout the western United States on these topics and enjoys helping others learn new ideas.
