Simöne Gall

Simöne Gall is an Italian author based in Turin, specializing in monographs dedicated to the most iconic figures in rock and contemporary music history. His bibliography includes detailed volumes on David Bowie, Depeche Mode, The Doors, and Guns N’ Roses. He also authored the first Italian monographs ever published on seminal bands such as Roxy Music and '90s alternative rock giants like Stone Temple Pilots. His books have consistently reached bestseller status in music history and criticism charts.

A regular contributor to "Rockol"—Italy's leading music news portal—he has written numerous high-profile articles and reviews, and conducted interviews with international icons including John Taylor (Duran Duran), Peter Murphy (Bauhaus), Alex Kapranos (Franz Ferdinand), Bobby Gillespie (Primal Scream), Rich Robinson (The Black Crowes), Ian Astbury (The Cult), Dave Mustaine (Megadeth), and the "Godfather of Shock Rock," Alice Cooper. He also collaborates with the magazine "Zero," covering lifestyle and events, and with "Nocturno," where he serves as a film critic for the digital platform and curates the column "Buio ignoto," which he created. Gall’s deep connection to music is rooted in his experience as a drummer; he was a founding member of the post-punk trio Milena Lovesick, performing at major festivals such as Traffic and Arezzo Wave.

As a translator for Edizioni Ester, Gall has edited the Italian editions of works ranging from academic non-fiction—including Åke Hultkrantz’s anthropological studies on Native American spirituality and Robert Hannah’s research on time in antiquity—to suspense and weird fiction by British masters such as Algernon Blackwood, Arthur Machen, and Lord Dunsany.
