Sonia Chatterjee

An alumnus of Presidency College (Kolkata), Delhi University, and XIME (Bangalore), Sonia Chatterjee holds two post-graduate degrees in the fields of Chemistry and Management. She also completed an MFA in creative writing from Writer’s Village University. With eight years of experience in the Banking sector as Branch Head, she took a sabbatical from the corporate world to start blogging. Her blog was featured in the list of Top Indian Blogs from 2019 to 2024.

Her articles have been published on various digital platforms such as Women’s Web, Youth Ki Awaaz, Tuck’s Magazine, and Period magazine. She has invited as a speaker at the Breaking Barriers, Kolkata 2018 event by Women's Web, as an author of thriller novels at the Women Writer’s Fest, Kolkata, 2020 and at the Kolkata Crime Writers Festival, Kolkata, 2025.

Deal of Death, her debut novella, has been awarded in the ‘Top 100 debut novels’ by Literatureslight and it has fetched Sonia Literoma Rising Star Award 2019 for the Best Debut Author (Fiction). She is also the recipient of The Spirit Mania award for Influential Women 2k20, Nex8 2020 Litfest Author award, and Literoma Nari Samman 2020 award.

'Diary, Deceit, and Death' - A Raya Ray Adventure is the second book in the Detective Raya series, which is receiving raving reviews. The book was shortlisted for PVLF Awards in the Best Fiction category.

'The Sanyasi who became a King' is her third book based on the true story behind the mystery of the Bhawal Raja. It marks Sonia's debut in the non fiction genre and earned the coveted bestseller tag.

Sonia lives in Kolkata with her doctor husband and nine-and-a-half-year-old son.
