Dr. Daniel Healy is the Assistant Professor and Head of Music Education at Roosevelt University in Chicago. He teaches and gives regular workshops/clinics on instrumental music, music improvisation, and improvisation pedagogy. He is the co-author of Music Discovery: Improvisation for the Large Ensemble and Music Classroom (Oxford University Press) and has contributed to the Society for Music Teacher Education volume Envisioning Music Teacher Education. He is also a contributing author to the educational supplement for the documentary film, Keep on Keepin' On, which was supported by a grant from the Quincy Jones Foundation and the Thelonious Monk Jazz Institute. Daniel is also a teacher with the Knowledge Training Institute in the United Arab Emirates and has conducted workshops with ensembles in Abu Dhabi.
