Karim Youssef

Karim Youssef was brought up in his formative years as a young child in Philadelphia, USA with his twin brother and late elder sister. His father is a professor emeritus of Architecture who earned his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania. Karim and his twin brother, Magid, followed the lead of their father, Dr. Wagih Youssef, and studied together a bachelor degree in Architecture, graduating with Honors.

Karim pursued the academic line further by completing a master's degree from the University of Montreal, Canada, where instruction is in French language, as well as completing a PhD in Environmental Design from the University of Calgary, Canada, for which he was nominated for the Governor General Gold Medal.

Karim is an assistant professor at California Baptist University and was a lecturer at Mount Royal University. He has also taught at the University of Calgary at the Department of Geography and the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape. Karim has published a couple of chapters in books on sustainability, one in a multi-disciplinary collection on Sustainability and the City and the other a co-authored chapter with Dr. Sasha Tsenkova in a Handbook of Quality of Life and Sustainability.
