Bio
K Patton is a brand new author to the world of children’s picture books. Writing has been on her to do list for quite some time and finally earlier this year the words just jumped on to the page. Her very first job was with a private preschool where she found a true love for sharing stories and watching the young minds grow.
Many years and a few jobs later Patton finally had the time and love to dedicate to a new chapter. Following the advice of a favorite author from her own child hood,
“If you don’t see the book you want on the shelf, write it” -Beverly Cleary
Patton works in retail management and spends her free time working in new stories for Jack the Raccoon, reading, cooking and spending time with friends and family in DFW.
Book #2 will be Released February 1 2021!!
-Adventures in Couch Cove
as told by Jack the Raccoon
Inspiration for The Macaron Mishap
Inspiration can hit a creative mind at any point, and part of that came from a macaron shop in DFW that’s my absolute favorite. The perfect cookie with endless possibilities! Jack became a raccoon out of my love for woodland creatures. I knew I wanted a character that would be unique with his own mischievous personality.
After I got The Macaron Mishap written and starting working with my illustrator the ideas just kept coming. The joy I have when writing tells me these stories are exactly what I need to be writing. I plan on having a whole series of books about Jack and his adventures.
Message
The meaning and message I want to share with young readers through this story is to try your best when fixing a problem. It’s not always about the outcome but the intentions in our actions that show our true character.
My Goal
I’m writing the story not just for the young readers but for the parents to enjoy reading too. The time spent reading with a child at any age is precious, the creative play and questions that result keep both parents and children engaged in their imaginations.
