Since I was five years old, I have enjoyed learning how things work. I also love creating things – from LegoŽ spaceships to designing computer systems.
When I was a kid, I liked to take things apart to learn how they worked. Then, I would try to put them back together to better understand how they operated. Usually, I was given broken appliances and other items to disassemble. One day, when I had run out of broken items, I took apart my mom’s brand-new vacuum cleaner; she was not happy about that! Fortunately, my dad was an engineer, so he saved me and reassembled the vacuum cleaner (and it still worked).
My passion for learning new things led me to work as an electrical engineer and an intellectual property attorney. Today, I help technology companies of all sizes foster and protect valuable inventions.
During the past 20 years, I am grateful to have worked with hundreds of technology companies and more than 1000 inventors. I’ve had fun working with autonomous vehicles, video games, robots, and artificial intelligence. I have worked with all types of businesses – from small startups to large corporations, including Intel, HP, Microsoft, and eBay. I also enjoy writing about intellectual property and innovation. My articles have been featured in Entrepreneur, The Huffington Post, and other publications.
I love being part of the creative process and helping companies thrive in their marketplace by identifying, developing, and protecting cutting-edge inventions. A great day for me includes brainstorming with a group of inventors and business leaders to discuss the exciting technology changes coming in the next few years.
My books are written based on experiences with all kinds of businesses and the lessons learned from hundreds of business leaders and thousands of inventors.
