Leonardo Ancona

Leonardo Ancona was born in Putignano, in the province of Bari, Puglia, on ottobre 11, 1977, to Antonio and Magno Letizia. He currently resides in Martina Franca, a charming baroque town in the province of Taranto.

After earning a surveyor's diploma from the ITGC Leonardo Da Vinci Institute in his hometown, he began his career as a pastry chef and bartender, moving frequently for work. He has lived in Fuerteventura, as well as in Lugano and Zurich in Switzerland, Nittenau near Munich in Germany, and various locations across Italy before returning to his hometown.

From a young age, he demonstrated an interest in human relationships and literature, particularly poetry. He began writing poetry at the age of 15 during a tumultuous adolescence.

He made his poetic debut by publishing his first anthology, "Il Cantico del mio Tempo," at the age of forty in 2017, followed by "Profondità d'Istinti" in 2018. In 2020, he debuted in the novel genre with "Amore a Piedi Scalzi" exploring the theme of love in all its forms.

Despite his critical view of his own early writings, the rewarding experience of his first novel further motivated Leonardo's literary pursuits. He devoted himself more intensely to studying and reading works by the great masters.

The intensification of his writing, vital for expressing his personality, led him to share the emotions and insights of the narrated time with his audience. Poetry has become his way of life, sparking emotions and inspiring other authors to join his poetic movement and form writing groups on various Facebook groups. Despite the transient nature of the virtual world, Leonardo succeeded in forging meaningful connections with others who share his passion, thus embarking on his cherished journey through verse, fueled both by the recognition he received and his innate desire to devote himself to others through his writing.
