Dr. Michael P. Fix is Professor of Political Science at Georgia State University. His recent research primarily focuses on the role of state high courts in the broader political and legal environment. His new book (with Ben Kassow) U.S. Supreme Court Doctrine in the State High Courts (Cambridge University Press, 2020) examines how law and politics shape state high court use of Supreme Court precedent. His research has also been published in a variety of political science and law journals including Social Science Quarterly, Political Research Quarterly, Vanderbilt Law Review, and Justice System Journal.
