Elayne Engelman Schulman

Elayne Schulman was born and raised in the Bronx. She attended college at the Hunter College Bronx campus where she met her husband Ira. Together they attended graduate school at Rutgers University and raised their three children in Somerset and Metuchen, New Jersey. Elayne taught math and philosophy and gravitated to the early adoption of computers.

After teaching she joined IBM where she supervised the development of educational software. As an evaluator for The National Science Foundation she evaluated math and science grants awarding millions to innovative projects.

Elayne is the author of five young adult computer books and several children’s stories, including Board Books with the pen name, Mimi. Journey is an effort to record some memories for her beloved family.
