A. Madison

Valencia A. Madison, (1985 - ) was born in San Diego, California, to French-Irish, Nigerian parents, beginning the journey into the Americas in the late 1800's. She studied and worked in Business and Marketing arenas for 10 years. Transitioned to Education for 20 years, primarily in the area of mathematics on the middle school level. Over the span of these years, many teaching opportunities allowed for the understanding of the difficulties of learning at various grade levels, especially pertaining to the topic. Learning styles became a challenge to tackle with differing visuals and auditory messages cut in throughout each lesson to appease multiple audiences. She found teaching to be both an art and science. Ultimately, the study of the the impacts on learning in both Florida and California public schools, led to the style and format found in her books today. Her first book, "A Tree Story: California Edition", is an example of simple structures with a visual impact and lettering formats that support comprehension and memory. No matter the topic, she builds a means to convey a lesson for all learning styles, all ages. As nature topics are near and dear to her heart, she thought it an enjoyable adventure to learn more about trees herself while taking the reader along for the ride. Additionally, supplemental learning tools include coloring books and journals were incorporated to foster the process.
