Mark Playne
Multi-award-winning filmmaker Mark Playne—whose short film Love at First Sight won 76 international awards and is archived by the British Film Institute—brings cinematic storytelling to literature. Selected as one of ten distinguished arthouse directors worldwide to represent Britain, he seamlessly transitions between film and books.
From surviving Pablo Escobar's Colombia in 3 Seconds in Bogotá, to the whimsical shepherd tale MoMo (compared to The Little Prince), to his explosive investigation AI & I challenging health narratives—his work spans continents, genres, and controversies.
Manchester film school graduate turned award-winning director turned reluctant truth-seeker, he writes what others won't.
Three books. Three worlds. One uncompromising voice.
