I first came to Cornwall in 1969, and having travelled all round the world settled here twenty years later. I have an enduring fascination with Cornish folklore, social history and with old music. Folk-tales tell us so much about the people of times past.

In my folk tale books I try and place the stories in as realistic context as possible, and historical local characters and events provide the background to the tales. These books are all 'stories within a story' and the over-arching tale is itself as realistic as possible.

To my delight I have found that numbers of readers have used the books as a guide on walking holidays, and read the tales in the very places that they happened.
