M. C. Williams

M. C. Williams was raised in a diverse community in Uniondale, New York. In the 1970’s, Uniondale’s population consisted of Asian, Polish, German, Jewish, Caribbean, South American, Italian, and African American people. The author’s stories include these communities and are based on the lives of real people from the neighborhood, from travels overseas, and relatives from the South.

M. C. Williams, at the age of two, loved books and words. At the age of three, the author could repeat the stories word for word. The love of writing began in the third grade when Mrs. Ruizi asked the class to write a short story. The author was eight years old. In the fifth grade, Mrs. Walsh published poems and short stories in a publication called Trojan. This is what led to the author’s love of storytelling. Also, the author has a wild imagination and would often tell stories to get attention as a child.

M. C. Williams read everything in the library from Hughes, Brown, Baldwin, Hurston, Morrison, and Wright. Then, Sartre, Hemingway, Conrad, Penn, and Dostoevsky. O’Connor, King, and Camus filled her head with nonsense and horror. The author’s novels are a combination of books read, environmental influences, and human experiences.

M. C. Williams wrote novels for twenty years before publishing Wind Song with Xlibris. Years later, A New York Fairy Tale: Suburban Sun and Feminine Hues were published by AuthorHouse. Finally, The Sex Life of Maritza Manning was published by Austin Macauley before the author discovered self-publishing through Kindle.

Kindle has allowed the works that were rejected by publishing houses to finally see the light of day. The author has opened files that were waiting for years to be released. M. C. Williams is pleased to share these novels with you.
