K.A. Leigh, a financial auditor and CPA turned breakthrough children's book writer. Having graduated college on the brink of the Great Recession, K.A. had chosen the "financially safe" route, a Bachelors and Masters degree in Accounting with a job offer straight into the Big 4 accounting firm, Deloitte. She worked as a financial auditor for 10 years, and more recently as a corporate recruiter for three years.
But K.A. had always known deep down inside of her there sat another gift. A gift of story-telling and guidance. For years she lived her life with story ideas and manuscripts forming in her mind. Often, you'd find her walking the blocks of Channelside in Tampa, FL with her beloved beagle-basset hound, Jellybean, concocting stories in her mind of the lives of her passerby's.
But then one evening, while on the phone with her artist fiancé, she caught sight of a bear character he had been sketching, and suddenly an entire story-line came into her mind. She hadn't published children's content before, though she had a massive heart for kids who felt lonely or were struggling to learn things for the first time. So when this story-line idea came knocking hard inside of her, she dropped what she was doing and listened to it. Thankfully. She ran into her bedroom, her sanctuary for imagination and creativity, and she wrote. And she wrote, and she wrote, and she wrote.
And thus was the creation...of Brudders' Books.
