Maury Barr

Maury Barr began writing early in life and began submitting to literary magazines while still in high school. He has always written fiction and poetry, but has also written educational testing materials, technical medical manuals, newspaper and magazine articles, and done other commercial writing. He earned an MFA from the University of Iowa Writer's Workshop, and has taught writing and literature at the college level for twenty-four years. He grew up on the East Coast in Georgia and Maine, then grew up more in Berkeley and in the Pacific Northwest. He has travelled in Asia, South America, and quite a bit in Europe and the U.S. Home is a cluttered Craftsman house in town and a tidier log cabin off the grid in the woods.
