Andrea Spinelli

Andrea Spinelli, originally from Catania, Sicily (Italy) moves to Friuli-Venezia Giulia with his wife in the early 2000. After he's diagnosed with inoperable cancer on his pancreas in 2012, his life exponentially changes. He starts walking for hours and hours, which eventually become days, months, years, spent exploring Italy and several European countries, using pilgrimage routes and regular pathways in nature.

When he's diagnosed with a second cancer in October 2022, on his left lung, he's already being followed by several people on social media where he talks about his story, advocating about cancer, and sharing photos of his daily life from the RV that has become a home for him and his family.

He left us in March 2023, gifting us with a trace of his experiences in numerous successful books: "Se cammino vivo", literally «If I walk, I live», "Il caminante", translated with «The walker» but the literal nuance is slightly different, the latest "Andamento lento", a «Slow pace» report of his final moments collected in a journal, and a blog www dot andreaspinelli dot it as his legacy.
