Mark Mechan

Mark Mechan is an author, illustrator and graphic designer. Mark studied at Dundee’s Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, and, as Red Axe Design, has worked in publishing as a graphic designer for over twenty years, designing for publications as varied as Scottish social history and literary fiction. His first book ‘Tumshie’ was published in 2020 and was inspired by Halloween nights over the years with his own kids. ‘Welly Boot Broth’ is his second book and again is inspired by seasons spent with his family in the garden with his wife and three kids – playing, growing and letting nature take its course.
