Cory Cason

Cory Cason is a writer and multidisciplinary artist whose work explores liminal experience, fractured reality, grief, memory, and alternative inner worlds. Working across fiction, non-fiction, poetry, photography, painting, and mixed media, his projects often move between the documentary and the surreal, resisting resolution in favor of emotional and psychological truth.

Cason’s early non-fiction books, At the End of the Dance and The Next Dance, examine loss and mourning with directness and restraint, forming the foundation of a body of work rooted in brutal honesty. His fiction expands these concerns into imagined spaces, most notably in the novels Still Born, St. Jude’s Island, and Plane, Colorado, which explore perception, madness, redemption, and the instability of meaning. His poetry collections—Disturbances, Iowa, and Amerikan Dream—continue these themes through fragmentation and compression. He also has a collection of short stories, aptly titled 13 Short Stories.

In addition to his written work, Cason is a visual artist whose photography and paintings engage similar ideas of pressure, rupture, and transformation. His multidisciplinary work appears under the ongoing project Jac My World Art, an evolving archive that brings his visual and literary practices together.

Cason is based in Colorado. His forthcoming novel, No Seatbelts, is scheduled for release in 2026.
