With a Ph.D. in chemistry (solid-state) and computer science, Dr. Gressling implemented his first machine learning system at the University of Kiel, Germany in 1996.
He worked for many years in Banking and Finance in Frankfurt (Dresdner Bank), New York (Kleinwort Benson), and Hong Kong. For many years he was head of business intelligence at a pharma company in Berlin.
The quantum leap in the development of Deep Learning led him to found a start-up in 2015 on the implementation of neural networks for material science. By joining ARS GmbH in Munich (Germany) he formed a division of Cognitive Computing and AI.
Doing implementations of cognitive systems to wet-laboratories and working on neural networks in many fields he is one of the leaders in the intersection of chemistry, pharma, and applied Artificial Intelligence.
He created the new field of Autochemistry bringing a new perspective to Chemistry 4.0. Currently, he is working in the role of disruptive technology innovation lead at Bayer AG in Germany.
