Rayan Khatoun

Rayan Khatoun was born in Nigeria to Lebanese parents and grew up surrounded by the colors, rhythms, and stories of Africa. From a young age, she was captivated by the magic of storytelling, shaped by the tales of local voices and by her father’s deep love for poetry, languages, and the written word. Every evening, he would sit her down and weave stories of his own, sparking in her a lifelong love for imagination and language. Books became her refuge, and storytelling her passion, leading her to begin writing as a child.

Her journey took her from boarding school in the UK to life in Lebanon, where her love for words continued to grow. Later, as a mother of two, she carried on the tradition, making up bedtime stories for her children. Inspired by their daily drawings, she transformed simple sketches into enchanting adventures, turning bedtime into a magical ritual and deepening her bond with them while fueling her creativity.

Today, Rayan lives in Qatar, where she works as a Group Human Resources Manager. Alongside her professional career, she continues to nurture her love for writing, crafting children’s stories, poetry, and reflections that celebrate imagination, connection, and the simple magic of words.
