Peggy Breitner

Peggy Breitner (1962-present) was born in Monroe, Michigan as Peggy Foster. I attended Community College on a scholarship where I met my husband and best friend David Breitner. After the scholarship ran out, we started our family. Rachel was born later and James after that. When our children were in school I returned to MCCC to complete my Associates of Science degree. I graduated with honors. Later, I graduated the University of Toledo with a Bachelors of Education with high honors. We moved to Mississippi where I obtained my first full-time, public school teaching position in Bay St. Louis. In 2005, Katrina hit the Gulf Coast. I wrote "Surviving Katrina" as a type of written record of everything I had gone through. After being rejected by publishers, I put it on a back burner and continued teaching. After teaching 14 years, I retired in 2020 and decided to publish my story. I also wrote "COVID Chaos" a teenage boy's perspective of COVID. I enjoy writing, learning to play piano, and Spanish. I love taking walks and spending time with my husband and family and brand new grandson.
