I’m a life-long learner and a grateful creative soul. I had a good military career and served my last years as a Special Forces Planner. I am currently working on reinventing myself and helping others with my knowledge, experience, and books. I’m currently updating my Opportunity Truth book.
I believe there are guarantees in life. Every day is a new trek with new opportunities, challenges, and choices. New knowledge helps us better manage our opportunities and challenges and make better choices.
I also believe there are shortcuts in life. When we learn from other people who have done what we want to do, it can save us years of personal experience. As long as we can identify and embrace the truths that apply to us. Many truths are interactive and situationally dependent, and they don’t apply to everyone in the same way.
I believe truth is our most valuable resource, because it allows us to make good use of our time. Without truth we could find ourselves wasting time. Time is a natural opportunity with 1,440 minutes each new day. It doesn't care about political parties, race, gender, sexual orientation, social class, or religion.
One of the most important truths I have come to embrace is that being a life-long learner is priceless. I’ve found one of the most helpful tips to learning and growing is to think more thoughts that start with, “How can I…?"
How we deliberately grow ourselves will have a large effect on our opportunities. The more we learn and grow the more chance we have of attracting or finding opportunities.
Like the vast majority of people my age, I have experienced love and loss, faith and fear, courage and confusion, victory and defeat, wisdom and folly, and I’ve had some serious challenges. I’ve done some serious reflection, confessed my sins, repented, and studied how to improve myself.
Being a thinker and having a passion for learning I’ve created my own theories and products and I’m working on getting them published. Thank you Amazon.
I was raised by a single mother in a small town and joined the Army at 17 for a full-time job with full benefits, four weeks of paid vacation a year, and a free ticket to see the world. I finished my first three years in Germany and left the Army to go to college. After my first college semester, my report card gave me a reality check. I was having more fun than I was studying. I went back in the Army, and after a couple of years, I tried out for Special Forces (SF).
I went on to have a very good career in SF. I had the opportunity to fill the position of a Team Sergeant, and later became a Warrant Officer and had the opportunity to fill the position of an Assistant Team Leader, and then a Team Leader.
When I was younger, I never imagined I would be in SF; it just kind of happened, as I stayed open to opportunities and worked hard. It was an honor to serve our country, alongside great men and women in uniform and civilians. It was also an honor to serve other countries, doing my small part on a team, doing our small part for their country.
I gave my best physical years to the military and when I decided to move on, I tried college again, but with more self-discipline. I became passionate about learning and I achieved my business degree. Thank you to our taxpayers and the government for the college G.I. Bill, as I could not have afforded it any other way. During my business studies, it was no surprise to learn the most important factor in business, just like any organization, is leadership.
While I learned a lot in the military and in college, I also learned a lot as I self-studied books from people who have proven principles over decades of experience. Self-study also opened my mind to other alternatives and theories, which became my published books.
Every year there are new findings and new technology that can help people, and people write about it or talk about it in videos or podcasts. I hope you build a passion for learning. I hope you find one or more of my books helpful and provide a good review.
The Way
With grace and truth, the more we know;
Individually and collectively, apply them and grow.
With caring and courage, the better our lives will be;
Individually and collectively, apply them and see.
With love and wisdom, we improve humanity;
Ideally and practically, working towards unity;
With our words and actions, echoing in eternity.
