Suzanne Fortin

Suzanne Fortin writes historical and dual-timeline women’s fiction about courageous women facing extraordinary circumstances. She has always written, but chose to complete her first novel while juggling three children and a newborn. At the time, it seemed like a good idea.

Suzanne has a home in France, where she often writes and draws inspiration from the surrounding countryside and its Second World War history. A roadside memorial in a neighbouring village sparked a particular fascination: who were the four local men commemorated there, killed at the hands of the Germans? It took several years to uncover their story and discover that two were father and son. It’s stories like theirs that make her want to find out more about ordinary people caught up in extraordinary times, and inspire the women she writes about.

She also writes domestic thrillers and romantic suspense as Sue Fortin and is a USA Today and international bestselling author whose novels have reached number one in the Amazon UK Kindle chart and number three in the US. She has twice won the Jackie Collins Romantic Thriller Award. Coming from a large family, she has always been fascinated by family dynamics, weaving those complicated relationships and loyalties into her suspense novels.

Suzanne hopes one day to speak fluent French, though her neighbours seem perfectly happy with her current efforts, which provide them with no shortage of entertainment.
