Peter Jauch
From talented handball player to media professional and food enthusiast
Born in 1976 in Lucerne, Switzerland, Peter Jauch showed an early interest in sport and made it to the top handball league in Switzerland. However, injuries at the age of 22 jeopardised his dream of an international career. However, his longing for new adventures remained unbroken.
His passion for the media, especially magazines, led him in a different direction professionally. With a degree in business administration, Jauch worked for over 20 years in various roles at the most prestigious Swiss publications.
A move to Red Bull Media House finally brought him to Vienna, where he discovered the city's vibrant bar culture. His enthusiasm for gin, which began in 2011 in Zurich's first gin bar Dante with a Monkey47, deepened in the Austrian metropolis. With growing interest and new ideas, Jauch initiated the first GIN Experience Festival in Zurich in September 2018. His innovative concept, which specifically aimed to appeal to new target groups, proved to be a complete success. The subsequent gin infused dinners also proved popular.
In 2020, he launched ‘GIN - The Book’, a unique work on the market. Together with photographer Anja Prestel and book designer Philipp v. Keisenberg, he explored the world of gin and invited experts from the industry to have their say.
At the end of 2022, Jauch expanded his concept and dedicated himself to the topic of champagne. Together with his trusted team - Anja Prestel and Philipp v. Keisenberg - he created a new work that was published in November 2024. Here, too, the three pillars of ‘Stories, Experiences and Drinks’ are once again impressively highlighted.
