Justin Starr

Justin Starr is the Endowed Professor of Advanced Technologies at the Community College of Allegheny County where he develops materials to rapidly upskill the workforce, focusing on AI, automation, Industry 4.0 and other cutting-edge fields. Before joining the college, Justin was CTO of RedZone Robotics, Inc., a manufacturer of water and wastewater inspection robots and asset management software. Dr. Starr also worked on several DARPA programs with QinetiQ North America's Technology Solutions Group. He has 12 issued U.S. patents in AI, VR/AR and robotic systems, and works as a consultant to multiple water and wastewater tech companies, municipalities and government agencies. Justin earned his Ph.D. and M.S. in Materials Engineering from the University of Florida, his B.S. in Engineering Science from the University of Virginia, and his A.S. in Business Management from CCAC.
