Nancy Canavan Anderson

Nancy is an experienced classroom teacher, curriculum specialist, author, and professional developer. She has worked with students from kindergarten through high school, taught mathematics to preservice teachers at Boston University, and served as a math coach and research scientist at the Teaching Systems Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Nancy is a frequent speaker at regional and national conferences and a published author in the field of mathematics education. Her publications include Talk Moves: A Teacher's Guide for Using Classroom Discussions in Math Class, Good Questions for Math Teaching, Grades 5-8, and What’s Right About Wrong Answers: Learning from Math Mistakes, Grades 4-5. Nancy earned her undergraduate degree at Boston University where she graduated summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa.
