Paul Smyth
Paul Smyth has always loved airplanes. Born and raised in Ontario, Canada, he flew with his dad, a private pilot, whenever possible. During his 35 years as a commercial/news videographer in Alberta, Paul eagerly grabbed the chance to take flight as media-related adventures presented themselves. As an avid flight simulator enthusiast with thousands of virtual hours in his log book, Paul elevated his love of aviation to a new level, inventively writing himself and those he holds dear into a rousing, topflight story! As a proud husband, father and grandfather, Paul is all about wholeheartedly enjoying life with family and friends. He has created lasting memories with those he loves through jovial conversation, photography and video, and now—following a delightful journey of sleep-deprived self-discovery and good old-fashioned imagination—his first ever work of page turning, in-the-clouds fiction!
Paul currently resides in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He loves black coffee, the outdoors, long walks; and with the release of DELIVERIES, he has joyfully stumbled upon the absolute thrill of writing.

Still Writing!
I can't believe how fast the time passes! Someone seriously needs to invent a way to stop the clock so I can catch up! I've been busy writing a mind-blowing sequel to DELIVERIES, and just recently completed the manuscript! Now I've begun the arduous task of editing and re-writing and all the fun things that go with crafting a novel! I've got no plans as yet for publication, but hope that down the road I'll be able to get this new book into print! DELIVERIES recently appeared in a four-page spread in an inaugural edition of an Australian magazine, called the World's Greatest Magazine! It was such an honor for me as a relatively new author. Another honor for me was my dentist recently buying up 10 copies of DELIVERIES for himself and his staff! How cool is that? I've since attended a local book club who selected DELIVERIES as their book of the month. So much fun to be among such an amazing group of readers and to hear about their experiences in reading my novel. One reader actually read some of their favorite excerpts to the group, which for me was the first time I've ever heard someone read parts of my book back to me. Very inspiring! So, I shall endeavor to keep writing and editing and crafting chapters! Writing has become a daily pursuit for me, and at 61, it's keeps this aging mind on track and focused! It's been quite some time since adding to this blog. Suffice it to say that life has become extremely complicated these past few years with Covid, and all of the trauma associated with it; not only for myself and my loved ones, but for the world in general. I'm finding it difficult to believe that this coming August will mark the 2 year anniversary of DELIVERIES publication. Where has the time gone? I'm still very proud of this accomplishment as having fulfilled my life-long dream of writing a novel. In fact, I just received notice that DELIVERIES won a BREW Readers' Choice Award for 2021/22. Needless to say I was taken by surprise with this honor. It remains my hope that more and more readers will take a chance on my book and read for themselves an adventure that's truly like no other. I'm still working on a sequel, and though I admit that I'm a slow writer, I'm doing my best to create another tale worthy of your time. I'm currently editing chapters and still need to come up with an ending. I don't yet know how the story will end until I get there, and as an author, that's half the fun of writing! I've got 25 chapters done and maybe another 10 to go! Speaking of which, I should make some supper and get back to it!
