April Stace

Hello, dear readers!

When I was a kid, my dream was to become a writer.

But not just any writer. I wanted to be the first journalist on the moon.

I am so not kidding. This is the first time I have ever confessed this fact!

Clearly, I gave up that dream pretty early, which was probably for that best. Instead, I had a career in music performance (harp,) and eventually combined my love for the spiritual and the creative by earning a Ph.D. in religion and culture. My published writing began as sermons and academic books and articles, but grew into what I always wanted to do, which is much more personal and creative. My most recent book, White Knuckle Love, is my first non-academic publication, and easily my favorite.

I grew up outside of Philadelphia, lived in the DC metro area for many years, Seattle for a few, and now I find myself loving the Hudson valley in New York, where I live with my spouse, Lou, my teenaged son, my very anxious chihuahua, and 2 very chilled-out guinea pigs.

When I’m not writing or playing harp, I love my work as a coach and as a parent. I also love biking, learning the banjo, and telling really irreverent jokes to anyone who will listen.
