Richard Sherman

Richard Sherman was born and raised in Southern California, perhaps the world’s capitol of backyard grillers. Richard is a food blogger and moderator on the world’s largest grilling and barbecue forum, BBQ- Brethren.com. From 2009 to 2012, he was an early adopter and online ambassador of the reverse sear, originally pioneered by Chris Finney.

He is fascinated by fire and smoke and how it transforms food. Richard has owned 18 grills, smokers, and outdoor cooking contraptions, some of which he engineered and created himself. He currently has seven grills and smokers, though there are rumors of an eighth coming later in 2020.

Richard studied at UCLA and moved on to a successful career in the advertising industry, eventually launching his own agency working with top brands such as Hewlett Packard, Amazon, Whole Foods, Crate & Barrel, and many others.

Richard lives in Los Angeles, California, with his wife, two male cats and beloved rat terrier, Daisy.
