Jonathan Young

Jonathan Young was born in Belfast in 1947 and from the first time he saw the film "The Al Jolson Story" he wanted to be a singer which is what he became. Through out the sixties he played guitar in beat groups working with people like Van Morrison and even following in the footsteps of The Beatles into venues like The Top Ten Club in Hamburg with his group The Misfits.

In 1967 he married Margaret Campbell and relocated to Manchester to begin a highly successful solo career in the clubs and theatres through out Britain. Jonathan by this time had turned his hand to acting starting with small parts in films like "Harrys Game", "Shoot To Kill", and "The Glory Boys" as Rod Steigers bodyguard. He then starred as Derek Burns in "The Van Boys" and won rave reviews at The Cannes Film Festival.

In 1995 he became lead vocalist in "THE BACHELORS with John Stokes" and the next 25 years are well documented on their web site www.the-bachelors.co.uk

In 2018 Jonathan was tempted by into acting when his long time pal Jimmy Cricket (and there's more) asked him to tour with him and Colin Meredith in a play he had written called "No more Fiffing & Faffing". Jonathan has written many songs for example, world cup songs for Northern & Southern Ireland, Manchester United and of course Manchester Morning which has become an anthem and can be found on You Tube. Up until now the only thing he hasn't done in his long career is write a book. Well he has now, its called "KEY TO YESTERDAY"
