Sara Kennedy

Wild Work Books is a family-owned publishing company focused on bringing nature home and getting little ones involved in caring for the well-being of our planet. We hope that our words and pictures can instill thoughtful and long-lasting outdoor ethics in children and parents as we work together to make a better planet. Wild Word Books was started by author Sara Kennedy and the illustrator for Wild Word Books is Tess Reid.

Sara Kennedy is a mother with a passion for adventure. She is always happiest when exploring the outdoors with her family. Sara's career path has been shaped by the outdoors. As an ocean lifeguard and park ranger, she has found that she has a passion for protecting our most precious natural resources. She hopes that her words will bring awareness to our planet and the misunderstood animals that call it home.

Tess Reid is an artist who is drawn to the wild. After working with a shark conservation team, Tess had an overwhelming realization that animals can be unfairly misrepresented. This became a springboard to start her small art and conservation business, Species Speak, which combines her love for art with her love for animals. Her mission is to help humanity better understand and respect nature through her work.

Fun Fact: Sara and Tess are second cousins!
